Sample Science Release Dandelion, A Retro Inspired Instrument

Sample Science have released Dandelion, a lofi sound module for retro-inspired music. The 40 multi-sampled sounds included are reminiscent of the music of Boards of Canada, Lone, Lorn, Milieu, and Tycho. It can be used in music genres that require lofi dusty sounds like lofi hip hop, vaporwave, ambient, downtempo, and dungeon synth.

Dandelion is available as a plugin, a Kontakt instrument and for Decent Sampler.

Features of the plugin version:

  • Room reverb
  • Lowpass/highpass filter
  • Low-CPU usage
  • Amplitude range controls
  • 3 voice modes: polyphonic, monophonic, and legato

The Decent Sampler version features the same sounds as the plugin version, but with different effects and sound-shaping capabilities. Decent Sampler is a free sampler VST/VST3/AAX/AU/AUv3 and is compatible with Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS. There’s also a standalone version.

The Kontakt version contains 40 instruments (nki) and has an amplitude and filter ADSRs as well as reverb. The Kontakt 5/6 version requires the full version of Kontakt 5/6. It must be the latest updated version.
