Meteor FX

Designed for and by composers, sound designers and musicians, Meteor is a creative tool that delivers rich and layered swells, dramatic crescendos, and powerful impacts. Outfit 7 sample layers with a massive collection of sounds from field recordings and effects to exclusive orchestral sessions directed specifically for Meteor. Intuitively mix, modulate and apply high-quality effects to polish and perfect your sounds, then perform them synced to the action or musically with polyphony and velocity support. Meteor provides a deep feature set complemented with a fast and intuitive workflow, yielding everything from futuristic builds and surgical impacts to rich and emotive musical environments.

Meteor’s interface was designed for efficiency, providing the appropriate level-of-detail for the task at hand. Looking for inspiration? Load it up, set the desired rise and impact times, quickly audition presets or click the randomizer for an endless supply of unique configurations, then crank the Thrust knob to take your sound to the next level. Want to customize your sound or prefer building them from the ground up? Click the ‘Settings’ button for detailed controls, design each layer with a huge selection of sounds and controls, then finalize it with modulations and bus effects.
If you want to use Meteor as an instrument in your music, turn off “Hold” and play the sounds with full control over pitch, velocity and timing.

At a high-level Meteor is a 7-track sample player divided into 2 sections, with 3 layers dedicated to rise sounds and 4 layers dedicated to impacts. Each layer offers both general track controls including volume, pan, bypass, mute, solo and effect sends for reverb and delay, as well as controls specific to the layer type. Rise tracks each include a customizable velocity curve, volume and pitch modulation, multi-mode distortion and a multi-mode filter. Impact tracks each include time offset, transient and tail length, multi-mode distortion, multi-mode filter, pitch glide and an IRCAM Granular mode.

Both the Rise and Impact groups have track locks allowing you to make changes to individual tracks or all tracks simultaneously, along with bypass, octave switch and randomize/undo functions. Rise time can be set in either free or beat-sync modes and can be locked to maintain your timing while browsing presets. Impact timing defaults to the end of the rise sound, but can be offset forwards or backwards to play in sync, delayed or anywhere in-between – combined with individual layer offsets this allows for the creation of varied and complex sequences.

Astroid

Asteroid is a creative tool for developing powerful, rhythmic and evolving sequences, percussions, transitions, effects and more. Load up 7 sample layers with an incredible collection of sounds from a wide range of sources including orchestral percussion, effects, electronic and acoustic drums, foley, and found sounds. A deeply-configurable editor allows you to sculpt each sound, mix spatially, add multi-fx, master eq and dynamics, and create rich and evolving sequenced sounds with 128 steps of velocity, pan, pitch, decay, reverb, and delay, discretely per-track.

With a fast and intuitive workflow, deep sound library, and a huge selection of inspiring presets, Asteroid is a rewarding and powerful tool for composers, sound designers and musicians alike.

Asteroid has been designed to give you everything you need to make complex, layered, and incredible sounding rhythmic percussions, sequences, and effects in an intuitive and easy to use interface. Browse from hundreds of included kits and sequenced presets and quickly adjust to taste, or start from scratch and explore an endless supply of configurations with the randomizer.

Adjust every detail of your sound on the Edit page, from sample selection, volume and effect sends, to spatial mixing, transient controls, eq, multi-fx and more. Play each of the 7-layers discretely or create massive sequenced phrases with a full selection of bus effects to master your sound, all without ever leaving the interface.

At a high-level Asteroid is a 7-track sample player with a massively powerful integrated sequencer and deeply-customizable effects. Tracks can be loaded from a specially curated library of sounds designed for use within Asteroid, with global or per-track sample randomizers for instant inspiration. Choose from a stereo mix or multi-out (each track to a separate out for further processing), quickly dial-in a massive sound with Thrust, and use the modwheel-mapped Velocity for continuous control over the dynamics of your sequence.

Drone

Designed for composers, sound designers, and musicians, Drone is a creative instrument that delivers constantly evolving textures and atmospheres, from deep and powerful low-end ambiences to rich and shimmering environments.

Outfit a dual-layer sample synth with hundreds of included long-format samples, turn them into mesmerizing textures with the IRCAM Granular engine, add depth, grit, and detail with built-in effects like Swarm, Feedback Loop and Harmonics, and easily craft movement to taste with a customizable XY controller, and Chaos or LFO modulators. Drone is a fully-featured tool expressly designed to create rich and detailed sonic environments and sound effects with endless movement and variety.

Whoosh FX

Created by and for sound designers, Whoosh FX is an easy-to-master yet powerful tool for generating all manner of movement, wind and whoosh-type effects. Set duration, customize 3 discrete layers with a deep selection of noises and textural sounds with categories including air, electrical, fire metal, orchestral, water, wind and more, choose envelope presets or draw them in with your mouse, add movement, doppler effects, transform your sound with a morphing vowel filter, and add studio-grade effects including convolver, digital EQ, delay, IR reverb, limiter and more. Whoosh FX offers a deep feature set packed in a clear and intuitive interface, easily yielding everything from synchronized sound effects for motion graphics, television and films to rich, moving soundbeds for musical and environmental applications.

At the heart of Whoosh FX are 3 sound sources: Noise, Texture 1, and Texture 2. These 3 sources are fully-configurable, with discrete envelopes controlling amplitude and filter (seen in the center of the UI), multi-mode filters, stereo placement, tilt, pitch and level controls, helping you quickly create a huge variety of different sounds.

The Noise layer contains 11 types of synthesized noise to choose from including Band, S+H, Violet, Blue, White, Pink, Brown, Lorenz, Rossler, Logistic and Sinus, meanwhile the Texture 1 and 2 layers add a wide selection of dedicated field recordings and synthesized sound sources created specifically for Whoosh FX. Sounds are organized by category and include Air, Distorted, Electricity, Fire, Fx, Material, Metal, Motor, Noise, Orchestral, Rock, Sparkle, Synth, Water and Wind, and can be independently pitched by +/- 24 semitones.

Each layer can have a unique filter mode (LP, Comb or HP) and cutoff frequency, and can be edited individually or all at once. Selecting the Sources tab at the bottom you’ll find controls for the noise and texture types along with layer-specific parameters such as pan, tilt, pitch, and width. Texture 1 and 2 both include Randomize and Undo buttons allowing for chance inspiration and a quick way back in case you overstep.

Walker

Walker is a comprehensive, flexible and easy to use sound design tool that delivers everything you need to create realistic footstep and movement sounds. Built on a library of over 25,000 samples, Walker lets you choose any combination of 3 different mic pairs (placed near and far), 6 types of shoes, 14 ground surfaces with ground effects and 8 types of clothing. Perform steps in auto or manual modes with independent control over toe, heel and scuff timing to create perfect sync with your source, and adjust the volume of clothing, shoes, scuffing, floor and ground effects like creaking wood, dirt, leaves and branches, water and more to get the exact sound needed. Deep, flexible and well organized, Walker is an indispensable tool for post facilities and sound designers.

Walker was designed from end-to-end to provide an exacting quality for the demands of professional use. A massive library of over 25,000 samples was meticulously recorded at the prestigious Technicolor Sound Stage in Paris, France and edited for precise and reliable playback. Each sound was recorded with 3 matched mic pairs placed near and far, exposed and selectable within the UI, including Schoeps CMC6 (small-diaphragm cardioid), Neumann U87 (large-diaphragm cardioid) and DPA 4006 (omni-directional).

Walker utilizes a single UI editor with a central HUD preview showing the currently loaded mic, shoes, clothing and ground surface, while focused panels provide control over mics, clothing, shoes, floor, surface effects, step mode, effects and advanced settings.

The products are compatible with UVI’s Workstation for PC and Mac users.
