SampleScience have released Marimba Renaissance, a new FREE instrument available on a multi-platform level. Despite being free, donations are welcomed.
Marimba Renaissance is a virtual instrument based on a damaged marimba recording that has been restored. A combination of audio engineering techniques has been used to make these marimba samples great: spectral repair, adaptative noise removal, manual retuning, and physical modeling. The result is a versatile instrument, rich in tone and easy to use.
Features of the plugin version:
- 2 marimba sounds: standard and space
- Multi-LFO
- Room reverb
- Lowpass/highpass filter
- Low-CPU usage
- Amplitude range controls
- 3 voice modes: polyphonic, monophonic, and legato
The Decent Sampler version features the same sounds as the plugin version, but with different effects and sound-shaping capabilities. Decent Sampler is a free sampler.
The Kontakt version has an amplitude and filter ADSRs as well as a delay, reverb, and chorus. The Kontakt 5/6 version requires the full version of Kontakt 5/6. It must be the latest updated version.
Marimba Renaissance is available to PC, Mac, iOS and Linux users (VST2, VST3, AU, AAX and AUv3). It’s also a standalone instrument.
