UVI release Walker 2, a ground-up reimagining of their acclaimed footstep foley designer. Walker 2 is available the intro price of $/€129, increasing to $/€199 after the promotion. Existing Walker users can upgrade for $59/59€. The intro and upgrade offers end September 5th.
With a new engine, new recordings, and a redesigned interface, Walker 2 is a comprehensive, flexible and easy to use sound design tool that delivers everything you need to create realistic or completely fantastical footstep and movement sounds for film, games and more.
Built on an epic library of 45,000+ all-new samples, Walker 2 delivers a powerful all-in-one solution. With Walker 2 users can now choose from between 14 shoes including sneakers, boots, dress shoes, heels, socks, bare feet, crowds and more, 8 animal feet including multiple sizes of paws, hooves, and talons, a designer section for creating creature, robot and effect sounds, up to 32 surfaces now including stairs up and down, 24 clothing options, and extensive sub-layer accent sounds including buckles, shoe laces, squeaks, spurs, water and more.
Walker 2 is able to create an extremely realistic sound in most situations, thanks to the utilization of both normal and lift samples, discrete recordings for different step speeds including slow, normal, and fast-paced, combined with a high-quality IR-based reverb now sporting 46 spaces designed to replicate the most common acoustic environments. Further detail and nuance can be added with the built-in 3-band EQ with low and high cut, compressor and limiter.
Walker 2 dramatically improves workflow with an all-new user interface, including visual menus, clearer arrangement and presentation, and the support for user samples (via Falcon). Quickly browse to find the elements in your scene, dial-in level, pitch, attack and decay, randomness, audition 4 different microphones, utilize IR reverb to place your sound, then perform with speed, distance, velocity and lift controls to precisely match the action. Deep, flexible, well organized, and supremely easy to use, Walker 2 is designed to be an indispensable tool for post facilities and sound designers.
