Duc Anh Nguyen has released Radio Audio Unit, a novel way to listen to radio stations as an AUv3 app. Radio Audio Unit is available for $5.99.
Radio Audio Unit is an audio unit plugin that plays internet radio stations. This allows play streaming audio without leaving your host app or other music production workflow.
The plugin itself contains a large number of internet radio stations’ urls. They are divided into groups (blues, classical, country, electronic …), each group has many genres: (acoustic blues, country blues, delta blues …)
Features include:
- Large number of stations(37,000+). Browse by group, genre. There’s also a server’s location to help knowing the location of streaming’s server.
- Optimized audio player that can play a large number of audio types.
- Easy way to add stations with SMART BROWSER. This browser can trap audio links while you are browsing and send them directly to the player.
- Randomize function to automatically randomly choose a station (by group, genre, station)
- Compatible with host transport controls. State saving, etc
- AUv3 parameters: Gain control, trigger play/pause/stop/rewind random group/genre/station. To help advanced users control the plugin. I have exposed 4 parameters to control the state of the player, 3 parameters to randomize the station. Stop parameter will cause the player to cancel all of its connections.
