Aperture Cassette Symphony

Prepare for orchestral time travel – go from intimate solo players to a full symphony — in an instant — resampled through 200 cassette players, all in the same virtual instrument.

Spitfire have gone back to the early days of tape sampling and taken inspiration from the sound world of the mellotron, and then blown that out of proportion – capturing strings, brass, woodwind and percussion and resampling through a custom built symphony of cassette players.

Delivered with the nostalgic warm tones that only cassette can deliver, featuring 100 articulations, Aperture Cassette Symphony allows you to controlling the dynamics and the number of players in an orchestra simultaneously, giving you incredible focus, texture, and magnitude allowing you to create all new and modern scores.

With tones that offer modern and beautiful tape warmth, through to the charming warbling worn sound of old cassettes, and the Aperture fader which spans size — from section leaders, to small orchestral sections, to full symphonic — Aperture Cassette Symphony is a library that not only takes your productions on a journey through time, but also space.

An imagined aperture in sound. At the bottom of the dynamic range, the library features single players recorded close, as you increase the dynamics, the size of the ensemble also increases, until you are playing a full symphonic orchestra.

Features include:

  • Over 800 Tapes of organic orchestral material
  • 200 Custom cassette players (Warpman) – organised and played back in classic orchestral positioning
  • 10 Custom made performance controllers
  • 15 Speakers
  • Recorded with a full Orchestral Microphone Setup
  • 7 sections – Hi strings, Low Strings, High Woods, Low Woods, High Brass, Low Brass and Percussion
  • Captured in a beautiful converted church
