Acustica have released Arctic, their new mixbus tool as a FREE download.
As per tradition, every year for Xmas Acustica like to surprise their faithful users with a gift for their loyalty and support. This year is no exception, so please give a warm welcome to Arctic. This brand-new ‘Frankenstein’ tool fuses three different processes, giving you a powerful ‘All-in-one’ Mix Bus plugin that takes you toward your desired sound in just a few moves.
Arctic represents an Innovative Multi FX Acqua plugin which combines a compressor (COMP), limiter (LIM) and distortion (SAT) in a single tool for your DAW. From smooth compression to hard limiting to extreme overdrive, Arctic allows you to find the perfect processing for your mix anywhere and makes your work much easier.
Acustica took the best parts of all three processes and merged them into one ultra-lightweight CPU plugin based on the Acustica’s new high-performance Hyper technology.
A single ‘morphing’ slider makes it easy to instantly understand how the three processes are being controlled and the ‘fine-tuning’ controls are for more accurate and detailed settings. Nothing could be simpler and more straightforward to get an homogenised sound and ‘bigger picture’ processing.
The compressor in Arctic features two detector circuits working simultaneously, both derived from different sampled units and enhanced by our Hyper tech, all within one single dynamics processor.
- The first, a Peak-type detector, is characterised by fast attack-release times, to preserve and manage transients.
- The second, the detector is derived from a slower compressor characterised by an RMS type detector, which has a natural but less snappy behaviour.
Arctic represents Acustica’s first product to feature shape modulation for both the attack (SHMOD) and release time constants, ‘invisibly’ incorporated within the morphing control (MORPH).
It is characterised by very low latency with very low aliasing and minimal distortion.
Arctic is available to PC and Mac users (VST2, VST3, AU and AAX).
