Impact Soundworks and Jatin Chowdhury (ChowDSP) have collaborated and will soon be releasing TAPE SCULPTOR, a plugin inspired by Jatin’s freely available Chow Tape Model. There’s no information on pricing and availability.
The sound of this ranges from very subtle harmonic warming to extreme destruction; it can nail everything from pristine reel-to-reel, to beat-up cassettes, to warbly lo-fi alien modulation. If you want pure warmth, fatness, and character, you can easily dial that in. But the breadth of modules and knob ranges let you go way beyond what you can do in a typical tape plugin.
The UI is visually-appealing and focused on ease of use. Every tape function is in its own section that can be toggled on or off. All key controls are accessible – no tabs or sub-panels needed. I’m designing the vast majority of the presets for it and it’s simply a breeze to customize the exact sound you want.
TAPE SCULPTOR will be available to PC and Mac users (VST, AU, AAX and CLAP).
