MPC Samples have released Funk Drum Patterns, the second release in our MPC MIDI series and features 325 funk drum grooves in MPC pattern format, available at the intro price of £19.99, increasing to £24.99 after the promotion. The offer ends May 3rd.
The collection consists of 101 core grooves each with up to 4 additional variations and fills covering a mix of funk drum styles inspired by some of the greatest funk drummers of all time including Clyde Stubblefield, Jabo Sparks, Zigaboo Modeliste and David Garibaldi. All grooves were created from real drum performances and are packed with natural human feel and groove. And definitely no quantising!
All drum patterns are provided in a number of mappings that mean they can be paired with any MPC drum kit, with highly optimised mappings available for the following:
- ‘MPC Drummer’ acoustic kits – for the most realistic sounding drum grooves possible, these mappings utilise the multiple kicks, snares, hats, toms, rides and cymbal articulations found in our MPC Drummer acoustic kit series. Perfect for laying down authentic sounding soul, funk and vintage style drum tracks.
- ‘Dirty Drummer’ Series – MPC Samples’ range of multisampled Dirty Drummer ‘cycle’ kits give the funk grooves a more boom bap and lofi vibe.
- DrumSynth Plugin – these optimised versions work perfectly in the free Drumsynth internal synth plugin and can expand the use of the patterns to styles such as trap, electro, old school and grime.
MPC Sample’s also included ‘universal’ mappings which work well with the majority of Akai ‘factory’ kits (i.e. the hundreds of kits pre-installed in your MPC/Force), the drum kits from Akai’s own commercial expansions and of course your own custom drum kits – we’ve even included mappings for any synths or drum machines that adhere to General MIDI standard.
Each pattern features its own browser preview so you can easily audition each groove before loading it into your project. Match your groove with your chosen drum kit and quickly build a complete drum performance using the provided variations and fills. And as your drums are built entirely with MIDI you can easily change tempo, edit, overdub or continue experimenting with different kits until you get the exact vibe you need.
