Plugin Boutique are offering 50% off Mono/Poly by KORG for a limited time, now only £49.00 / $60.69, (usually £99.00 / $122.62). The offer ends October 1st.
The analog synthesizer Mono/Poly, which was launched at the same time as the Polysix in 1981, combined Korg’s analog synthesizers made until then into one ground-breaking synthesizer. Although this was a monophonic synthesizer with a thick sound made up of four voices, it had a groundbreaking specification of also being able to be used as a four-voice polyphonic synthesizer, which was extremely valuable as polyphonic synths were then expensive. It was famous for having the versatility of sound creation using 4 VCO (Voltage Controlled Oscillators) combined with Polysix, such as oscillator sync and cross-modulation.
While the Mono/Poly V2 in this KORG Collection has been based on the software-emulated Mono/Poly from 2007, it has been refined for modern production environments. In addition to the much-requested high-resolution and scalable interface, KORG have added two new multi-effects. All of the analog sounds and behaviors are realistically reproduced by CMT, KORG’s proprietary electronic Circuit Modeling Technology, and this latest software brings the power and vintage vibes that you want in a plug-in.
Mono/Poly has four VCOs with a dedicated envelope generator for the VCF, advanced chord memory and arpeggiator and has sync and cross-modulation functions that create revolutionary tone effects. It is a synthesizer that has received high acclaim for its ability to fine-tune its sound creation and unique sound character.
The Mono/Poly of the KORG Collection faithfully reproduces the sound of the original Mono/Poly and behavior of its huge array of parameters with KORG’s proprietary electronic circuit modeling technology CMT (Component Modeling Technology). Instead of merely simulating the output sound as conventional modeling does, KORG’s CMT is a method for using digital equivalents of the transistors, capacitors, resistors, and other components found in the hardware realm to reconstruct the same signal path digitally. This perfectly reproduces the complex range of sounds and parameters that can only be created with the Mono/Poly.
KORG have made major GUI refinements to the KORG Legacy Collection ANALOG EDITION Mono/Poly software originally released in 2007. Its high-resolution graphics make it fit into modern Retina & 4K environments and by supporting six levels of scalability, usability has been drastically improved. Enjoy features that are easy to use and give a sense of satisfaction which are unique to the Polysix and control many parameters such as patching, at a high resolution.
The four key assign modes that let you freely use the mono and poly modes are the unique functions that the name Mono/Poly comes from. In addition to Unison, in which 4 VCOs are stacked, KORG have added CHORD which can memorize chord structures and let you play with one finger, and also Original, which distributes the four VCOs to four voices, Poly mode makes it possible to have polyphonic performances with all 4 VCOs stacked.
The 8-way virtual patch functionality lets you expand the characteristic versatile Mono/Poly sound to extreme limits. Using 159 different modulation sources, you can modulate up to 35 destinations, allowing you to create sounds that are more complex than those of the original synth.
There are two new types of multi effects: Distortion with three types of switchable effects such as Valve Reactor, and Feedback, which has four types of switchable effects such as Reverb, Space, and Riser. This means there are 21 types of high-quality multi effects in total.
KORG Collection Mono/Poly V2 includes the 300 latest presets which showcase a wide variety of sounds unique to Mono/Poly, especially highlighting multiple analog synthesizer sounds. In addition to being able to register sounds that you like as favorites, and allowing you to recall them instantly, KORG Collection Mono/Poly V2 comes with a template function that offers an expansive selection of basic sounds. Everyone will be able to easily find the sound they’re after.
