Wrongtools have released SPIN, an instrument showcases a duo of carousel music boxes, available as a FREE download.
Delicate notes serve as the foundation for included textured sound design patches that offers the flexibility to generate raindrop-like textures or bell-like oscillations, as well as even more distinctive effects.
The journey into the creation of SPIN began when buying two self playing antique instruments at a thrift market: a Cylinder Music Box and a Carousel Music Box.
To achieve a more ‘special’ sound, Wrongtools placed the music boxes on resonating wooden cases, combined the two instruments into one Kontakt Patch for you to blend.
Recorded with spot with Sennheiser 800MKHs in omni mode, and small DPA mics inside the resonating case placed under the instrument.
SPIN requires a full version if Kontakt 6.4.2 or later.
