Izmar Verhage has released an update for VMPC2000XL, available as a FREE download. There is also an iPad only iOS public beta that should land within the next week or two.
What’s new in version 0.5.13:
- Fixed a regression in direct-to-disk recording where the recording process would never start.
- Direct-to-disk recordings are now stored in a directory with a nice name with timestamp. They will not be overwritten anymore.
- Direct-to-disk recordings that are silent are automatically removed right after finishing recording.
For those who love the workflow, look and charm of the original MPC series hardware unit, VMPC2000XL is an emulator of the classic Akai MPC2000XL sampler/sequencer.
iOS users will soon have the opportunity to embrace the features and workflow that made this unit such an iconic piece of hardware via a public beta. The final version will of course feature AUv3 connectivity to work within products like AUM and Cubasis 3 and will also have standalone functionality.
Features include:
- Feature parity with the original
- iOS AUv3 support (coming soon)
- Standalone application, as well as plugin support
- Load/save most of the MPC2000XL file formats: APS, ALL, PGM, SND, MID, WAV
- Raw USB volume (CF card) support with Akai FAT 16.3 filenames for direct exchange between the original and the emulator
- Multi-track direct-to-disk recording, a.ka. “bouncing”, to WAV
Note: VMPC2000XL is in no way associated nor has had any creative input from Akai Professional, this is an independant developer project.
VMPC2000XL is currently available to PC, Mac and Linux users (VST3, AU and LV2).
