Loopmasters and Loopcloud have announced the recent addition of Kat Abel – Nu Jazz & Neo Soul Vocals by Loopmasters.
Loopmasters proudly brings to you, Nu Jazz & Neo Soul Vocals sung by none other than the magnificent Kat Abel. Despite having professionally gigged with reggae, gypsy, and Latin bands, Kat’s passion lay in jazz and soul. This collection has been a labor of love, working with melodies and chord progressions that hold a special place in her musical makeup.
Digesting her surroundings and life experience, Kat writes from a place of sincerity and relatability, singing about love, loss, and friendship. She writes with positivity, but also a shadow of honesty, giving an upbeat, reflective look at life.
Her vocals have a powerful, classic soul sound with a hint of R&B and jazz. Growing up with influence from Beyonce, Britney Spears, and Adele, her vocals have an early 2000s sound, but with a unique vintage twist. Heavily influenced by her background in jazz, she draws influence from great jazz singers such as Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald. She is due to release her first solo EP in March 2024, this will be an EP exploring a stripped back honest, and intimate version of Kat.
Nu Jazz & Neo Soul Vocals boasts ten different songs that contain leads, adlibs, as well as high and low vocals. Being an expert at jazz techniques, Kat provided a mix of written phrases, scats, and improvised sounds that reflect her musical origins. These unique loops play between 80 to 125 BPM, making them ideal for all laid-back genres including but not limited to jazz, neo-soul, R&B, and downtempo.
