ADSR Release Orbit – Euclidean Sequencer

ADSR have released Orbit, a Euclidean sequencer, available at the intro price of £18.84, increasing to £23.56 after the promotion. The offer ends April 1st.

Orbit is a sophisticated MIDI sequencer that can generate melodies, chord progressions, drum patterns and more. Driven by the Euclidean algorithm, a simple yet infinitely powerful mathematical model, Orbit merges controlled randomness with intuitive visual feedback, offering an effortless platform to experiment, innovate, and bring your musical vision to life.

The Euclidean algorithm evenly distributes beats across a given time span. Under your creative guidance, Orbit introduces a captivating unpredictability by placing notes in patterns that defy immediate intuition. This controlled randomness within structured rhythms infuses compositions with subtle surprises, making them dynamically engaging and compelling.

Orbit’s sequencer offers 8 separate lanes or rhythm parts each with independent controls allowing for complex polyrhythms and constantly evolving sequences. You can customise each lane by specifying and tweaking a full range of parameters including steps, beats, rotation, probability, velocity, swing and more.

The modulation panel can be used to draw in modulation for each parameter on any given lane. With Orbit’s internal modulation system you can modulate the parameters of the sequencer on the fly, or even add an element of randomization to the whole process.

The scale selector lets you choose your key quickly and facilitates key changes using the circle of fifths.

The Advanced view allows you to see and control the parameters for all 8 lanes ay once, this can be especially useful in the moments before you drag and drop the MIDI from Orbit straight in to your DAW.

Orbit’s randomize panel allows you to fine tune the boundaries of the randomize function so that you’re riffing is both creative and useable for your project.

Orbit is available to PC and Mac users (VST3 and AU).
