Crafted by Rhythm Generation, Senegalese Percussion embodies absolute authenticity in African percussion, offering a range of versatile rhythmic patterns to enhance your creations.
From humble beginnings in Senegal, West Africa, Cheikh Diop, founding owner and creative director of Rhythm Generation, mastered the craft of making and playing traditional djembe drumming, dance, and other African percussion instruments. With over three decades of immersion in the art, Cheikh has apprenticed with revered Griot families and Cultural Centers along the small coast of Senegal. His journey led him to the United Kingdom, where he became a cultural ambassador, sharing the rich traditions of West African music, dance, and storytelling.
Establishing Rhythm Generation in 2004, Cheikh pioneered a platform offering unique, uplifting experiences across educational, entertainment, and corporate settings. From VIP events to intimate gatherings like weddings and birthdays, Cheikh’s performances have graced prestigious venues worldwide, including the Crowne Plaza in Jordan, the Modena Hotel in Shanghai, and the Natural History Museum in London, among others.
Senegalese Percussion comprises 11 distinct songs, each carefully organised into its own folder and tempo-tagged. Spanning tempos from 90 to 150 BPM, these samples deliver unmatched flexibility for creating both relaxed rhythms and spirited grooves. Featuring djembes, dunduns, shakers, bells, and expertly mixed percussion loops, this collection ensures instant inspiration, eliminating the need for trial and error as every element seamlessly complements the next.
