Samplestate is proud to present its latest pack Breakbeat House, a forward-thinking production resource that takes it cues from the past.
Since the early days of 90’s rave and early house music breakbeats have played a massive part of fabric of electronic music, both house music, techno, drum and bass and more. From the seminal classics of CLS “Can You Feel It” and Bizarre Inc “Playing with Knives” to the modern classics such as Biceps Glue or Apricots the influence of breakbeats is undeniable. Breaks or Breakbeats have been influences in both commercial and underground styles for decades with everything from Minimal Techno, Rominimal House, Garage and straight up house have extensively used breaks. Even more contemporary artists such as Anotr, Kolter, Sweely, Folamour and many more have all paid homage to classic breaks sounds.
With this pack we accept how mammoth a task it would be to represent the true influence of breaks within house music but we do our best to represent some of our favourite vibes. Drum loops within this pack are presented in both a standard 4×4 kick format, a more standard house groove but also with a tighter broken beat kick version to add an instant breaks vibes to the grooves. Underlying elements of each beat also contain specially recorded live drum breaks to add an authentic breakbeat house sound to beat grooves. Bass, Synth, Texture loops and our vocal samples all work perfectly together with the beats.
