The KORG Collection is a suite of software synthesizers that methodically and accurately recreates the authentic sound and behavior of legendary KORG synthesizers for the present day and beyond. The KORG Collection project began with analogue models such as the MS-20 and Polysix, and has steadily evolved to include digital models such as the workstation classics M1 and TRITON, and even physical modeling from the renowned Prophecy.

In 2024, KORG is adding three more internationally beloved instruments to the KORG Collection, each of which have left their mark on music history.

First, the ARP 2600: a legendary, industry-changing synthesizer introduced in 1971 which had a stunning influence on jazz, rock, pop and funk in the 70s, and was featured in countless Hollywood movies. KORG faithfully recreated and reissued the ARP 2600 in 2020 as the ARP 2600 FS/ARP 2600M, ARP 2600 FS have been carefully modeled and reproduced for the KORG Collection.

Lastly the EP-1: The EP-1 models electric pianos that first appeared in the 1960s and have become beloved in the soul, jazz, pop music ever since then. This plugin is based on the MDS (Multi-Dimensional Synthesis) technology developed for Korg’s renowned  KRONOS and NAUTILUS synthesizers.

The KORG Collection 5 is now available, covering a vast range of legendary sounds that symbolize each era, music and culture.

Firstly, let’s look at some of the plugins modeling the soul of some great Korg analog synthesizers, such as KORG’s first mass-produced analog synthesizer, the miniKORG 700S (1974); the MS-20 (1978), with its unique, iconic, fat, viscous sound and flexible patching; the polyphonic Polysix (1981), with its built-in effects unit; the thick 4VCO Mono/Poly (1981), which could be used as both a monophonic and polyphonic synth, and the ARP 2600 (1971) and ARP ODYSSEY (1972), both originally developed by the legendary American company, ARP.

Famous digital KORG synths, they don’t get much bigger than the M1 (1988), a multi-purpose workstation that transformed the musical environment for musicians becoming one of the most successful synthesizers of all time. Then there’s the massive TRITON (1999), which underpinned so much of the music, TV and film worlds of the 2000s;followed by the TRITON Extreme (2004), the culmination of the Triton series and the first workstation featuring an inbuilt vacuum tube for unique sound processing.

Also included are KORG’s best-selling synthesizer, the analogue modeling synthesizer microKORG (2002); the ELECTRIBE-R (1999), a geeky favorite known as a quirky rhythm machine; the KAOSS PAD (1999),  the touch pad controlled effects processor that continues to play an active role in studios and on stages  worldwide. The vast collection of digital synthesizers includes the revolutionary vector synthesis machine WAVESTATION (1990) and the innovative physical modeling sound source Prophecy (1995), and all of this is topped off with a  comprehensive collection of sounds that will inspire musicians everywhere.
