Steinberg have announced the released of Pandrum 2 by Cinematique Instruments, available for £118.00. There’s also an upgrade path for version 1 users, available for £34.00.

Pandrum 2 is a resonant, vibrant collection of handpans, tongue drums, a steel pan drum and a set of Indonesian bonangs. Blend these amazing sound sources directly in the interface with curated recordings of kalimba, gendèr, a felt piano and pizzicato cello to field recordings like wine glasses and rattling bottle caps. It will help you create a unique mix of soundscapes and textures to enliven all kinds of music.
The developers Cinematique Instruments designed everything from scratch, including the engine, making use of all the user feedback and experience gathered since the launch of the first Pandrum instrument. They selected the most inspiring sound shaping options, recorded new sample sets for the handpans and the layer instruments, added more scales to play with and finally designed an interface to give you the perfect “hands-on” experience.

- Nine sampled handpans, three tongue drums, two steel drums and bonangs
- 11 layer instruments like guitar, vibraphone, felt piano and cello pizzicato
- 20 scale presets for intuitive and inspirational handpan performances
