Plugin Boutique are offering a deal on Gran Concerto 278 by IK Multimedia for a limited time, now only £70.99 / $91.74, (usually £101.00 / $130.52). The offer ends July 31st.
Gran Concerto 278 is based on a robot-assisted deep multisampling of a 9.5’ Fazioli F278 concert grand piano manufactured by Fazioli Pianoforti of Sacile, Italy. Made from the finest materials, this masterpiece of craftsmanship uses wood from the same red spruce forest where Antonio Stradivari cultivated his rare and celebrated violins. It’s considered by many jazz and classical players to be the finest piano in the world.
The F278 has a rich, powerful sound that’s well-suited for both solo and orchestral performances. It’s also known for its responsive action and wide dynamic range. The F278 is used by many of the world’s leading pianists, including Herbie Hancock, Lang Lang, Yuja Wang and Daniil Trifonov. It is also a popular choice for concert halls and recording studios.
During construction, the individual character of each F278 is revealed. And when completed, a new model sells today for over $100,000. Many pianists believe that it is worth the price for its distinctive voice. The IK F278 was tuned and prepared by a master technician so you may experience this specific instrument in all its unique glory with the Gran Concerto 278.
On this concert grand IK used DPA cardioid microphones for the close miking and DPA Omni microphones for medium-distanced with A-B miking technique to record this spectacular Fazioli at the legendary Fonoprint Studios in Bologna, Italy, within the walls of a 15th century convent.
In addition to many IK sample sessions over the years, Fonoprint has hosted the very best Italian and international artists from Ennio Morricone to Luciano Pavarotti to Andrea Bocelli.
