Enjoy real-time visual feedback, intuitive mapping of up to eight parameters, and easy adjustment of modulation settings. Simplify your workflow and experience seamless integration without needing a computer setup.
Ableton Live’s built-in LFO, Shaper, and Envelope Follower are powerful modulation tools that allow you to modulate up to eight selectable parameters in diverse ways. However, their default versions do not support mapping from Ableton Push, making it difficult to set up and use these devices directly from Push without initial configuration on your computer.
To address this limitation, I’ve developed modified versions of these devices with improved Push integration. Here’s what you can expect from these enhanced versions:
Features include:
- Map directly from Push:
- Turn the MAP dial to set the modulation destination into mapping mode, then move any parameter in any devices to make it mapped.
- If you want to un-map the parameter, just turn the UNMAP button.
- Change essential modulation parameters like Min, Max, and modulation mode directly from Push, without needing to revert to your computer.
- Visual Representation:
- The Push banks will automatically get renamed to the mapped parameter’s name.
- The modulation’s effect is visually represented by a moving dial, allowing you to observe changes such as the LFO’s shape and speed.
Important Notes:
The new modulation mode “REMOTE” in Live 12 is not visually indicated on Push. While this may be addressed in future Ableton updates, you can switch back to the older “MOD” mode directly from the device if you prefer to see what’s happening.
The visual feedback on the device only starts working once you moved the rate or sync Rate dials. (To avoid problems with undo history.)
These enhancements are designed to provide a seamless experience for Push users, allowing you to fully utilize the modulation capabilities of Ableton Live’s LFO, Shaper, and Envelope Follower without needing a computer for initial setup. Enjoy a more intuitive and integrated workflow directly from your Push controller.
