MPC Samples have released Drum Kit Vault, available at the intro price of £29.99 / €35.99, increasing to £49.99 / €59.99 after the promotion. The offer ends August 14th.
Drum Kit Vault is MPC Samples’ flagship hip hop drum kit library, built from over 2800 drum and percussion samples, featuring hundreds of ready-built kits, breaks and MIDI grooves for MPC & Akai Force.
The expansion features 400 hip hop drum kits built from a core drum library of over 1600 drum sounds. There’s 200 ‘raw’ kits and 200 gritty saturated ‘tape’ versions (resampled through our trusty Tascam Portastudio 414).
All kits feature perfectly matched kick, snare, closed hat, open hat, clap, shaker, cymbal and percussion, all with the same layout for easy mixing & matching with your sequences. The inspiration is distinctly boom bap & 90s Underground Hip Hop, but suitable for any beat-driven genre. Please note the melodic elements in the demos are not included in the expansion, it’s purely drums!
MPC Samples have also created 600 drum breaks (24 bit WAV), all built from the core drum library and processed through a chain of vintage outboard including a Urie 1776 . Perfect for that vintage, retro drum break vibe – use ‘as is’ or slice & dice to taste.
Each kit comes with 16 pre-mapped Q-Link macros that give you real time, hands-on control of your kit with adjustable noise layers (vinyl, tape, analog noise etc), lofi fx (bit rate, sample rate, clipping & distortion), compression, EQ, tuning and ambience.
The expansion features 200 hip hop drum patterns all extracted from live drum performances for authentic human feel and swing. Simply drop into your project and match with any of the 400 kits. All MIDI patterns fully compatible with our other MIDI groove libraries .
MPC Samples have also taken all the kicks, snares and claps from the library and created an additional 500 ‘split’ samples using spectral editing techniques.
For kicks and snares you’ll find a ‘ Tonal’ layer which comprises of the body/bottom end of the sound, while all sounds are provided with a separate ‘ Transient’ layer which comprises of the main noise and ‘texture’ elements of the original drum sound.
Split sounds are great for drum layering as they allow far more creative options when mixing and matching textures and tones, minimising frequency clashing and muddiness.
MPC Samples have also included a collection of noise samples, presented both as loops (for layering over entire songs and breaks) and as one shots (for individual drum layering).
