Recorded at Steve Albini’s legendary Electrical Audio studio in Chicago, we utilized a vintage 1971 Ludwig Maple Thermogloss drum kit, along with a combination of early ’70s black label Paiste 2002s and late ’60s Giant Beat Cymbals, all mirroring the same sizes as Bonham’s set up. In addition to capturing Bonham’s sonic fingerprint as accurately as possible, George also recorded eight different sessions, each tracked at a different bpm and feel, paying homage to different Led Zeppelin songs.
