Wrongtools have announced a pre-order for their forthcoming Putty Grand Kontakt instrument, available to pre-order for €39.00, increasing to €78.00 after the promotion. The release is due August 27th.
Putty Grand is a beautiful Bechstein Grand Piano from the golden era, sampled with a dash of Putty Kit placed at the end of each piano-string. An individualistic piano that is easy to play, super inspiring and with advanced options available behind all controls for those who like to tweak.
The strings are prepared in a way that brings out a dampened harmonics-like quality.
The recording session took about a week. Careful adjustments to the putty dashes was done to achieve the best-sounding harmonics across the dynamic layers and round-robins. Then… over several months, the samples were polished, fine-cut and refined. Resulting in what we experience as a new kind of piano sound. Very inspiring, unusual and an absolute pleasure to play.
With the pre-made effects settings, piano notes can transform into the sound of gentle rain showers on quiet afternoons.
