Audiomodern have updated Soundbox, which now includes a FREE Player version of the app. Version 1.0.4 introduces a Player version engine for any Soundbox Instrument without requiring to be activated by a license key.
To celebrate this update, Audiomoden have also released their first FREE instrument for Soundbox, Mechania. Mechania is a virtual instrument designed for electronic music producers featuring synth textures, Electronic FX and and bold, dynamic leads that are perfect for genres like synthwave, EDM, ambient, Techno and more.
Version 1.0.4 provides:
- Free Pack Imports – Now, everyone can enjoy our free instruments, even if you don’t own a Soundbox license key.
- Purchased Library Access – Import and Share Soundbox Instruments across devices (Desktop/iPad) so you won’t have to buy a library twice.
- Third-Party Support – Allows you to import Instruments made by third-party developers, with users who do not own a Soundbox license.
This update makes Soundbox more versatile, helping developers and sound designers share their creations with any user, while allowing everyone to experience Soundbox with our free instruments.
By using Soundbox as a free player, all features are unlocked and functional, except for the Sample & Mapping editor, which allows users to import custom sounds. The editor can be unlocked, through the settings tab, by entering a license key that comes with any Audiomodern Soundbox Instrument.

Soundbox is available to PC and Mac users (VST2, VST3, AU, AAX and standalone. The iPadOS version will have AUv3 support.
