Isotonik Studios Release Flowfal – For Ableton Live

Isotonik Studios have released Flowfal by Flowfal, available on a ‘Pay What You Want’ basis.

Flowfal is a system to allow control of Ableton Live using motion from one or more Apple or Android phones or smartwatches. These devices, running the Flowfal App, send data to Ableton Live over a low latency WiFi link.  Inside Ableton Live the Flowfal data is received by a set of Max For Live plugins that act on this movement data in different ways.

  • Map movement to any control within Live
  • Produce, gate or transpose MIDI
  • Produce MIDI CC data to control external equipment

You can use Flowfal:

  • As an expressive controller in the studio
  • As a visually interesting controller for live performance
  • With dancers
  • For wellness/mindfulness applications
  • With members of the public in installations
  • To control lights and visuals

You can have up to 20 phone or watch clients connected to the system at one time.

Watch the demo HERE.

The Flowfal client runs on Apple iPhones running iOS 11.0 or later, Apple Watches running WatchOS 8.0 or later, Android phones running Android 5.0 or later and Android Wear OS watches running Android 6.0 or later.
