BlizzVerb is a VST effect plug-in for creating realistic room reverberation.
When the wetness parameter is changed, BlizzVerb alters the underlying acoustic model to match the parameter. This provides a much more realistic sound than the wet/dry cross-fader commonly found on other reverb plugins.
Reverberation is a great way to enhance stereo rendering, and BlizzVerb does this with two independent models. One model is for speakers, and the other is for headphones. Combine both models in any amount to suit your needs.
Reverberation decay depends on frequency. Normally, high frequencies decay faster than lower ones. Moreover, room impulse response measurements tend to follow a general pattern for frequency dependent decay. BlizzVerb’s “cut-off” and “decay rate” parameters model this pattern, and it is far more realistic than ordinary hi-pass and lo-pass filters.
Choose a room to fine-tune reverberation characteristics. Each room has a unique set of early echos, and each provides for a distinct temporal texture, stereo field, and coloration. Results may be subtle, however there is often a definitive improvement as well.
Early echo build-up is based on geometrical acoustics theory. This provides natural-sounding reverberation without having to adjust pre-delay.
