Two new soundsets from Plughugger to kick-start their 2025. Reduction and Carbon are each available at the intro price of €4.90, increasing to €24.90 after the promotion. The offers end January 12th.
Reduction
Reduction for Omnisphere is a slowed down and melancholic soundset based on sounds recorded from the Virus TI. To give the raw samples a layer of old dusty gear, Plughugger sampled all the sounds with an Ensoniq EPS 16+, using low sample rates and recording levels (to emulate further bit reductions).
From the sound of broken bits and dusty sounds, the samples were imported into Omnisphere for a beautifying session with smooth reverbs, chorus and delays. Apart from tonal sounds, Plughugger also recorded drum, effects and percussion elements. As a last step they created 40 combined multi sounds based on the singles from the library.
What’s included:
- 39 Arpeggios & Sequences
- 14 Drum & Percussion
- 20 Effects
- 21 Pads and Strings
- 12 Bass sounds
- 26 Synth sounds
- 15 Textures & Soundscapes
- 40 Multis
Carbon
For decades, the Access Virus have been the industry standard for dance music productions, and with this soundset Plughugger set out to merge the sound of the 90s but with the less polished technology of the 80s and 90s.
For Carbon Plughugger started by selecting a large number of characteristic sounds and waveforms that defined the genre. They then sampled all sounds into an Ensoniq EPS 16+ hardware sampler with fairly low quality settings and low sample rates. Together with sampling at lower input volumes
the result is what a Virus would have sounded like if it was released in the middle of the 80s: an edgy and modern sound coated in the sound from the 80s and 90s.
From the combined sounds of Access Virus and Ensoniq EPS, the samples were imported into Omnisphere for a fresh-up with modern pumping reverbs, chorus and bouncy delays. Apart from the tonal synth, pads and bass sounds, we also added effects and percussion elements from the Virus. As a last step Plughugger created 40 combined multi sounds based on the singles from the library.
What’s included:
- 32 Arpeggios & Sequences
- 13 Drum & Percussion
- 8 Effects
- 26 Pads and Strings
- 25 Bass sounds
- 28 Synth sounds
- 40 Multis
Reduction & Carbon require Omnisphere 2.8.5 or later (not included).
