Fuzzoa is a distortion effect that features a sidechain-controlled waveshaper which gives the effect distinctive time-varying qualities.
When a sidechain is active, Fuzzoa’s clipping threshold is dependent on a combination of both the input signal and the sidechain signal. There are seven “Mixing Mode” options available. These combine the input signal and the sidechain signal in different ways, and they alter the distortion envelope. Depending on the particular setting, the sidechain may cause Fuzzoa to distort either more or less.
Adjusting the look-ahead parameter time-shifts the distortion envelope. The impact is somewhat subtle. However, it has a noteworthy impact on well how the sound ultimately sits in the mix.
The sidechain gives Fuzzoa a lot of distinction, and a lot of effort has been put into this feature. None the less, Fuzzoa remains a great way to get smooth-sounding more-conventional overdrive that doesn’t make use of a sidechain.
