Welcome to the beta test of LowFi Dojo Automaton, a creative MIDI automation plugin for iOS.
This plugin allows you to record and visualize MIDI notes and automation in a unique circular display.
Lowfi Dojo Automation was primarily developed for use with AUM but should work in any iOS AUv3-compatible host application.
Features include:
- Intuitive circular note visualization with color-coded notes and velocity
- Real-time MIDI recording and playback
- Adjustable loop length and playback speed
- Note quantization options (1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32)
- Octave shifting (-4 to +4 octaves)
- MPE (MIDI Polyphonic Expression) support
- Smooth automation transitions
- HOLD mode for sustained notes
Getting started in AUM
- 1. Load the plugin:
- Tap the ‘+’ button in AUM
- Select “MIDI Effect”
- Choose “LowFi Dojo Automaton”
- 2. Set up MIDI routing:
- Connect your MIDI keyboard/controller to the plugin’s input
- Connect the plugin’s output to your synth/instrument
- 3. Basic recording:
- Press the “RECORD” button to start recording
- Play your MIDI keyboard/controller
- Press “RECORD” again to stop
- Your recorded sequence will automatically loop
- 4. Fine-tuning:
- Adjust “LOOP LENGTH” to change the sequence duration
- Use “SPEED” to control playback tempo
- Toggle “QUANTIZE” to snap notes to the grid
- Use “OCTAVE” to shift notes up or down
- Toggle “HOLD” to switch between sustained notes (ON) and short triggers (OFF)
