G-Sonique Release Neovintage Valve System VA645

G-Sonique have released Neovintage Valve System VA645, available for €39.90. The first 64 customers will pay €19.90.

The Valve System VA645 is a realistic simulation of a vacuum tube (also called a valve in the UK).

Tubes are known for being able to transform a sharp digital sound into a soft, rounded one with pleasant round transients, but also add color, energy, liveliness and especially density and fatness. Vacuum tubes They add a series of higher harmonics to the sound, including the first harmonic which creates an excellent fatness of the sound, also significantly saturates and rounds the sound depending on the input volume and the type of incoming signal.

Many plugins try to mimic the behavior of tubes, but instead they only create digital saturation, which adds a lot of ugly digital aliasing/digital harmonics, i.e. digital dirt, which is accentuated when mastering at higher volumes.

It’s been over 17 years since G-Sonique released their first tube plugin, Pultronic! During that time, they’ve done extensive research and experimentation, trying to create a tube simulation as faithful as possible to the original analog tubes, which will enhance the sound and not add unpleasant digital harshness, but on the contrary, soften the buzz, round off sharp digital transients and make the sound more velvety.

A vacuum tube, also known as a thermionic lamp or vacuum tube, is an electronic component that was widely used in the early days of electronics to amplify and switch electrical signals. It consists of a closed glass or metal container containing various components, including electrodes and a vacuum.

Features include:

  • Input volume knob – for setting the input volume and at the same time the level of saturation, distortion and coloration + rounding of transients
  • Pentode knob
  • Triode knob – for setting the behavior of the vacuum tube
  • Tube voltage knob
  • Selector of tube type: modern, old vintage, soviet (each has a different sound and reacts differently to different types of input signals)
  • Analog hiss knob
  • LP Cut
  • Output volume

Neovintage Valve System VA645 is available to Windows users (VST).
