Oblivion Sound Lab have released Robotica, available on a ‘Pay What You Want’ basis (minimum $1.00).
Robotica is a collection of 81 presets for u-he’s Repro-1 and Repro-5 synthesizers, capturing the essence of early ‘80s electro.
Inspired by the pioneering sounds of acts such as Kraftwerk, Cybotron, Newcleus, and Mantronix, this set also nods to second wave electro producers like Anthony Rother and Dopplereffekt. Alongside faithful emulations of classic tones, you will find brand new patches that channel the spirit of old school electro.
From warm and analog to synthetic and experimental, these sounds will be at home in genres where drum machine rhythms and robotic funk intersect—including electro, techno, bass music, electronica, hip-hop and retrosynth.
Originally conceived in 2020 before Oblivion Sound Lab shifted focus to other projects, these patches refused to be forgotten so they’ve been dusted off and re-released.
