Rob Jackson Releases FakeTake, LevLr, DimChorus For MacOS – A FREE Download

Rob Jackson has released FakeTake, LebLr and DimChorus for MacOS, (previously iOS only), available as FREE downloads.

FakeTake

FakeTake is a tribute to the old “automatic double tracker” studio trick. The idea is that ADT creates the illusion of the same part, overdubbed again (a “fake take”) which can work great with many instruments, especially guitar and vocals. There are various approaches for achieving this effect, but most use a short delay, a bit of stereo processing and possibly some modulation applied to the delay. FakeTake uses all three!

LevLr

The LevLr “leveller” is a super simple dynamics processor with just two modes and two controls. If you find tinkering with compression ratios, makeup gain and attack / decay times, confusing or time-consuming, you might like to give LevLr a try, especially as it’s free!

DimChorus

DimChorus is a stereo chorus “dimension” effect inspired by the simple button operated circuits found in a famous guitar pedal and a legendary analog synth from the 80’s. While not intended to be an exact replica or emulation of either of these, DimChorus uses similar processing under the hood and embraces the vibe and simplicity of a bygone era!
