PSP Audioware Release PSP DRC – Dynamic Range Controller

PSP Audioware have released PSP DRC, available at the intro price of $99.00, increasing to $125.00 after the promotion.

PSP DRC is a modern dynamic processor inspired by the classic DBX 118, offering compression, expansion, and advanced side-chain Control. Ideal for mixing, mastering, and live sound.

blending the character of classic dynamics processing with cutting-edge features like full-range compression/expansion, threshold-based signal isolation, and external sidechain support. This versatile processor acts as a compander, allowing simultaneous compression (2:1) and expansion (1:2) for surgical dynamic control. With analog-inspired saturation, signal isolation modes (above/below threshold), and 64-bit processing, it’s equally adept at taming vocal peaks, adding punch to drums, or glueing mixes with vintage warmth.

PSPaudioware DRC, a powerful new dynamic processor plug-in inspired by the legendary DBX 118. With a fresh perspective on the classic concept, PSP DRC offers advanced processing capabilities that are seldom found in contemporary hardware or software, making it an essential tool for modern music production.

While the PSP DRC draws inspiration from the DBX 118, it is not a direct emulation of the original hardware. Instead, it reimagines and expands upon the original concept, incorporating additional features to enhance its utility in various audio processing scenarios. This unique approach allows users to harness both compression and expansion across the entire dynamic range of the signal. Additionally, the processor can isolate and handle signals above or below the threshold, providing a more refined level of control.

PSP DRC also introduces a complementary compressor-expander pair function, which can be achieved by setting the Ratio to 2:1 in the compressor and down to 1:2 in the expander. The inclusion of advanced side chain features and external side chain support further elevates PSP DRC’s capabilities, transforming it into a comprehensive compander system.

Features include:

  • Inspired by the DBX 118 with a Modern Twist: Reimagines the classic dynamics processor, offering a fresh and expanded approach rather than a direct emulation.
  • Comprehensive Dynamic Control: Enables both compression and expansion across the full dynamic range, allowing precise shaping of audio signals.
  • Threshold-Based Signal Isolation: Offers refined control by isolating and processing signals either above or below the set threshold.
  • Compander Pair Functionality: Supports a unique compressor-expander pair setup (e.g., 2:1 compression with 1:2 expansion) for versatile dynamic processing.
  • Advanced Side Chain Support: Features sophisticated side chain options, including external side chain input, making it a flexible and powerful tool for mixing and mastering.

PSP DSR is available to PC and Mac users (VST2, VST3, AU and AAX).
