Produced by Doug Rogers and Nick Phoenix, Forbidden Planet features a premier collection of sampled analog synthesizers (modern and vintage) and acoustic instruments. A central element of its design is the Orbital Control XY Pad, which allows you to control the X-Fade (cross-fade) between instrument layers and the Filter parameters horizontally and vertically, enabling dynamic shifts in timbre and frequency content. Forbidden Planet includes 645 instruments and approximately 54 Gigabytes (GB) of 24-bit, 44.1 kHz samples. It also features powerful tools like dual arpeggiators for creating complex rhythms and patterns.

LO-FI
Your New Secret Weapon Add dark, gritty textures and edgy, distorted sounds to your music with LO-FI. This new virtual instrument is dedicated to imperfection and extreme processing. All included content has been creatively reshaped through processes like pitch-shifting, bit-crushing, and distortion. Sources including synths, orchestral instruments, and guitars have been transformed into dynamic, expressive patches. LO-FI caters to a variety of genres, from hip-hop beats to atmospheric soundtracks and experimental electronic music. It runs in the Opus engine version 1.5.6 or higher.
Unified Power with the Opus Engine All three instruments in this bundle operate within EastWest’s powerful Opus software engine. Opus is described as faster, more powerful, more flexible, and better looking than the previous generation. It provides deep sound manipulation capabilities, including detailed controls, support for MIDI Continuous Controllers (CCs) for real-time parameter control, and automation within your DAW. The instruments feature comprehensive mixing options, including effects inserts, sub mixers, and FX buses. The Opus engine supports various DAW formats like VST2, VST3, AU, and AAX plug-in versions. Minimum system requirements for Opus 1.4.5 (Forbidden Planet) and 1.5.4 (Iconic) include a quad-core CPU at 2.7 GHz+, 16 GB RAM, and Windows 10+ (ASIO) or macOS 10.15+. Notation programs like Sibelius, Finale, and Dorico work with Opus but may not support the full feature set of some libraries, such as those using WordBuilder.
