The library features five percussion ensembles that reproduce the sound of Brazilian drummers grooving and improvising together.
Each ensemble includes a selection of 7 complementary instruments, a full 7-channel mixer, and 12 tempo-synced rhythms with mod wheel variations.
Every ensemble has its own character and sound, with its own set of instruments and its own set of rhythms. The ensembles can be combined together or with solo instruments to create Kontakt multis with rich and intricate rhythms. The library includes many Kontakt multis replicating traditional and modern Brazilian grooves.
Batucada
The traditional compact samba ensemble, with three surdos, a caixa (snare drum), an agogo bell, a tamborim, and a chocalho (brazilian framed tambourine). This ensemble offers a lovely sound and irresistible grooves!
Capoeira
A highly authentic Capoeira ensemble, with two complimentary pandeiros, a viola berimbau, a deep atabaque skin drum, a pair of wooden agogos, a wooden guiro (‘reco reco’), and complimentary group hand claps. Explore fascinating traditional rhythms and hypnotic sounds!
Afro-Brazil Drums
Based around a full drum set, this ensemble offers a lovely selection of characterful accompaniment instruments, such as bongos, claves, shakers, cowbell, tambourine, and nuts shakers. Play samba, bossa-jazz, and funk rhythms, with amazing ‘magic’ automatic variations from the drummer. Funky!!
Nova
The perfect ensemble for softer acoustic tracks! NOVA features a set of congas, a large atabaque drum, and a tasteful selection of smaller instruments such as frigideiras (small Brazilian frying pan), caxixi, shakers and woodblock. It also includes 15 mastered acoustic and electronic kicks to add low-end impact to your grooves or instantly create sun-drenched Brazilian electro beats!
Carnaval
This ensemble recreates the exciting sound of massive carnival drum ensembles, with each channel featuring a section of instruments. It includes two groups of low and medium surdos, two sections of snare drums, a group of repiniques and a section of tamborims, and complimentary sticks played by all musicians. Extremely powerful and super fun to play!
Each instrument has its own channel in the mixer. The controls let you change the sound in a powerful and intuitive way:
- VOLUME (main round knob), PAN (horizontal slider)
- High pass filter (HPF), pre-set equalizer (TONE) , saturation (DRIVE), and limiter (LIM)
- TUNE: change the pitch of the instrument (+ or – 7 semi-tones)
- SEND: send the signal to the main reverb. The amount of signal sent is set pre-fader, before the effects and the volume knob.
14 solo instruments are included in the library. Each solo instrument features an extended set of articulations and playing techniques, ‘magic keys’ with automatic variations, and 12 tempo-synced grooves and fill-ins. With left and right-hand sampling, impressive amounts of velocity layers and round-robins, these solo instruments are wonderfully responsive and fun to play!
All instruments feature ‘magic’ keys: A new sample is played every time you press the key.
Up to 200 round-robin alternative samples are programmed on these ‘magic’ keys, resulting in constant subtle variations and ultra-realistic rhythms.
