Retromelon’s TOYZ Release MDX-4 – A FREE Download

Retromelon’s TOYZ have released MDX-4, available as a FREE download.

MDX-4 is a one-of-a-kind VST3 multi-FX plugin that puts creative power in your hands.

This modular-style unit gives you complete freedom to route and combine effects in any order — just like a hardware modular synth, but fully digital and DAW-friendly.

The core modules include:

  • Distortion – Crush or saturate with the Limit and Shape controls for everything from vintage warmth to brutal grit.
  • Filter – Sculpt your sound with selectable Low Pass, High Pass, Band Pass, and Band Reject filter types.
  • Reverb – Choose from Gated, Freeze, or Normal reverb modes. Tweak Gate, Size, Width, Damp, and Mix to create lush textures or tight, rhythmic effects.
  • Delay – Switch between Stereo and Ping-Pong delay. Adjust timing, feedback, offset, and damping for rich, spatial soundscapes.
  • LFO Matrix (4 Total) – Modulate key parameters with 4 independent LFOs, each offering over 30 waveform types. Add motion, rhythm, and evolving textures.
  • Audio Routing – Patch audio into individual effects and out manually — chain reverb into delay or delay into reverb, or go wild with any order you like. No fixed signal flow, no wet/dry blend — just raw modular-style patching.

Whether you’re building atmospheric pads, glitchy FX chains, or wild modulated textures, MDX-4 delivers the flexibility and power you need — all inside your favorite DAW.

MDX-4 is available to PC and Mac users (VST3).
