Techivation Release T-De-Esser Pro Mk2

Techivation have released T-De-Esser Pro Mk2, available at the intro price of $45.00, increasing to $90.00 after the promotion. The offer ends July 30th.

What’s new:

  • Enhanced audio quality,
  • Smoother dynamic response
  • Redesigned user interface,
  • Even more control and clarity — without sacrificing simplicity.

Push beyond the limits and create brighter, cleaner sound without the harshness. T-De-Esser Pro Mk2 gives you precise control over sibilance, helping you remove harsh or lispy tones in a smooth, transparent way. Whether you’re recording, tracking, or performing live, it delivers natural results free from unwanted artefacts so your sound stays clean, clear, and full of character.

T-De-Esser Pro Mk2 retains the minimal, user-friendly interface of the original while delivering more refined control and improved audio performance. While de-essers are often seen as simple repair tools, Mk2 goes further — offering creative flexibility that fits naturally into both corrective and tonal shaping workflows.

Whether you want your snare to cut through with clarity, your guitars to sit more smoothly in the mix, or your backing vocals to sound fuller and more polished, T-De-Esser Pro Mk2 gives you the tools to shape your sound with ease.

The Processing slider determines how much level can pass through the De-Esser before compression is triggered. Lower the processing until gain reduction starts to occur. Now listen as you adjust the processing. Find the point at which sibilance is controlled without extreme audible compression.

The waveform display in T-De-Esser Pro Mk2 provides real-time visual feedback of the input signal, helping you monitor how the de-essing is applied across time. The red and gold overlay shows the difference between the raw input and processed signal, while the central bar indicates the current processing amount in decibels, updating dynamically. This visualisation allows you to fine-tune parameters like intensity, sharpness, and frequency range with more confidence, ensuring clean and transparent results.

Frequency range allows you to choose your custom frequency range in high frequencies for a more accurate result. You can choose to select frequencies from 1kHz to 20kHz. T-De-Esser Pro focuses on this frequency range for finding and removing harsh sounds. The waveform display shows the input level that is coming from the selected frequency range.

T-De-Esser Pro Mk2 “Intensity” determines how much gain reduction the De-Esser applies when the signal passes a threshold level. For example, an intensity of 4:1 means that for every 4dB the signal rises above the threshold, the De-Esser will allow an output of 1dB.

“Sharpness” refers to how the De-Esser transitions between the non compressed and compressed states of an audio signal running through it. A “lower sharpness” allows for a smoother and more gradual compression than a “higher sharpness.”

The attack setting controls how long it takes for the De-Esser to engage, while the release setting controls how long it takes to let go. “Attack” goes from 0.0 ms to 30.00 ms. And “Release” goes from 1.0 ms to 120.00 ms. A fast attack results in a softer sound, while a slower attack setting will make the sound punchier. If you go too fast with the attack, it may cause distortion, but if you have the “Lookahead” option turned on, it will help the attack to operate more accurately, resulting in a more natural sound.

The Lookahead function allows the De-Esser to “see” the input signal before it is processed, allowing it to handle transitory information better and make the attack smoother. Having “Lookahead” on will increase the latency so it’s not ideal to be used while tracking/recording.

The Oversampling feature in T-De-Esser Pro Mk2 helps you decrease aliasing by executing the internal process at a higher sample rate than the host, up to 16 times higher. (In other words, it will improve the quality of your audio.) As you increase the oversampling, the plug-in’s CPU usage will also increase. It is not recommend to be used while tracking/recording.

The saturation feature in T-De-Esser Pro Mk2 adds a unique colour and texture to the sound, helping the De-Esser in some cases to make a smoother sound. It can also create a new character for your sounds, specially when used with the other features like “mix” and “High-Cut”.

Satrluration Filter allows you to add saturation only to the specific selected high-frequency range. It makes the high frequencies sound crisp without harshness and is a great tool for blending them into the context of a mix.

T-De-Esser Pro Mk2 is available to PC and Mac users (VST2, VST3, AU and AAX).
