The Dark Tower Is On Offer At ADSR

ADSR are offering a deal on The Dark Tower by MNTRA Instruments for a limited time, now only $19.00, (usually $29.00). The offer enss September 18th.

The Dark Tower is a percussive virtual instrument captured inside a massive, abandoned grain silo. By recording metallic strikes—from sheets, staircases, and ventilators—within the silo’s towering concrete chambers, the result is a cinematic library rich in naturally reverberant, industrial textures perfect for trailer scores, experimental production, and film composition.

The Dark Tower summons the haunting resonance of an abandoned grain silo, transformed into a living percussive instrument. MNTRA Instruments ventured into this multi‑story concrete structure—its vertical shafts, weathered metal staircases, and cavernous infrastructure—and recorded metallic strikes and ambiences that echo with industrial grandeur and organic decay.

Resting within the raw acoustics of the silo, each sound in The Dark Tower was meticulously harvested from its concrete echo chamber: metal sheets, ventilator hits, staircase impacts, claps, and other percussive gestures that reverberated through the structure’s towering core. These sonic artifacts carry the silo’s unique geometry—natural delay and reverb made physical, not simulated.

Part of MNTRA’s Microfield Recording Series, this instrument converts architectural space into sound. The silo recording sessions were equal parts exploration and excavation—unearthing percussive tones born from the interplay between performer and structure. What emerged is an instrument that delivers both industrial weight and ambient sculpture, ideally suited for trailer composers, experimental producers, and cinematic sound designers.

The Dark Tower embodies both the architecture that birthed it and the expressive engine that powers it. Through MNTRA’s MNDALA 2 engine, you gain access to sequencers, live effects, and intuitive 3‑axis macros (X, Y, Z), allowing you to sculpt the percussive reverberance into rhythms, soundscapes, and sonic chaos. The result is more than samples—it’s a resonant instrument shaped by concrete, metal, and creative experimentation.

The Dark Tower is the first entry in MNTRA’s Microfield Recording Series—an invitation to play spaces, not just sounds. It turns abandoned architecture into an expressive tool, expanding your creative palette with textures usually hidden in the spaces we overlook.
