Florian Mrugalla has released Absorbiere, available as a FREE download.
Absorbiere is a side-chain ring modulation plugin designed to address uncontrolled peak levels in mixing.
Unlike traditional compression or volume ducking, Absorbiere uses sidechain-based ring modulation to tame transients and peaks, often achieving this with minimal audible change to the sound.
The plugin analyzes the sidechain input, typically a snare or kick, and adjusts gain staging for optimal headroom using the Capture button, which helps prevent clipping without altering the sound’s character.
Absorbiere features track identifiers, allowing parameter changes and sidechain recaptures on one instance to automatically apply to all others with the same identifier, streamlining the mixing workflow.
The Mix knob allows users to control the modulation depth, maintaining the sonic benefits of peak control while preserving transparency, and the plugin is free and open-source, available for download from Mrugalla’s GitHub page.
Absorbiere is available to PC and Mac users (VST3).
