sqsl Nashville is a MIDI controller/tool for exploring harmonies, modes, and chord progressions within heptatonic scales.
- Scale Definition:
- Choose from five scale patterns
- Select one of seven modes (pattern rotation)
- Set the root note
- Chord Shape/Voicing:
- Four editable chord shapes
- Voicing defined by degree intervals (not semitones intervals), with the option to shift voices one octave up or down
- Play and Loop:
- Performance pads spanning four octaves
- Looper for recording and replaying pad interactions
- Note: The looper records only pad interactions—scale settings and chord voicings are excluded—allowing users to create simple progressions and modify scales or chord shapes on the fly.
Additional features include:
- Adjustable loop playback rate
- Automatic loop evolution (per loop cycle)
- Ability to target multiple MIDI channels (in rotating or random order)
