Dystopian Waves have released Evorn, available for $10.00.
Evorn is a fresh Max for Live device I built to expand what LFOs can do in Ableton Live.
At its core, Evorn is about giving you control and creativity over modulation in ways that go far beyond standard LFOs. Instead of being locked into sine, square, or saw shapes, you can draw your own waveforms, reshape them, and make them move in unique, evolving ways.
Whether you’re after slowly evolving textures, precise rhythmic sequences, or unexpected random variations, Evorn gives you the tools to design modulation that truly shapes your sound. It’s flexible enough for sound designers, producers, and live performers alike.
Features include:
- Five independent LFOs — each with its own settings, color-coded controls, and eight mapping slots, so you can modulate many parameters at once.
- Drawable waveforms — sketch your own shapes right inside the device, invert them on X or Y axis, stretch, compress, smooth, or sharpen them, or copy & paste regions into new presets.
- 80+ included waveform presets to get you started instantly, plus a one-click waveform generator to spark new ideas.
- Waveform sequencing engine — step from one shape to another, or let Evorn randomly pick shapes from your library for endless variation. Playback modes — Free Run,
- Palindrome, One-Shot Trigger, or Sidechain — adapt the modulation to your project, whether you’re building rhythmic patterns, evolving pads, or expressive textures.
- Warp, jitter, and steps tools for adding subtle imperfections or glitchy detail.
- Tempo sync or free mode — lock your modulation tightly to Live’s tempo, or let it drift freely in Hz mode.
- Optimized to stay lightweight and efficient inside Ableton Live.
Evron requires Ableton Live with Max For Live (not included).
