Mixwave have released Quad Eight MM-310, available at the intro price of $89.00, increasing to $129.00 after the promotion.
A legend in American recording history, the MM-310 defined the Quad Eight sound — warm, wide, and effortlessly musical. From motion picture stages to hit records, its discrete, transformer-balanced circuitry remains sought after for its unmistakable presence and tone.
In partnership with Quad Eight Electronics, MixWave recreated this coveted piece of hardware for the modern era. Through meticulous component-level modeling, every nuance of its analog warmth, harmonic depth, and tonal smoothness has been captured — resulting in a powerful tool that delivers the authentic Quad Eight sound with the flexibility demanded by modern engineers.
The MM-310’s transformer-balanced preamp captures the essence of vintage Quad Eight engineering. Switch between Mic and Line modes to shape how the input transformer saturates, from smooth harmonic bloom to clean, open detail. The continuous gain control provides precise control over drive and color.
Three fixed EQ bands deliver musical control across the spectrum. Proportional-Q curves keep every adjustment smooth and natural, while the shelf toggle transforms the high band from a broad presence lift to a focused peak, offering true analog versatility.
Exclusive plugin-only features extend the MM-310’s analog heritage for modern workflows. Effortlessly blend with the built-in Dry/Wet mix control, or shape tone even further using high-pass and low-pass filters placed before and after the circuit. Designed for both mono and stereo signals, it brings the unmistakable sound of Quad Eight into the digital domain.
Quad Eight MM-310 is available to PC and Mac users (VST3, AU and AAX) and requires an iLok account.
