As Rewind is part of Melda Production’s ecosystem, it is included for FREE for all existing owners of MSoundFactory or MSoundFactoryLE. If you already have one of these, you don’t need a special license to use.
Melda Production’s Rewind is a specialized MSoundFactory instrument focused on creating reverse soundscapes, utilizing a granular engine and a reverse tape loop to transform 128 included samples into diverse textures ranging from ethereal chimes to ominous suspenseful scores.
The core of Rewind features a granular sampler that deconstructs samples into ‘grains’ played backwards, offering extensive control over parameters like Position, Density, and Size, alongside stereo Width, Chaos, Detune, and a Lo-Fi section with Digital (bit-crushing) and Analog (warmth, saturation) controls.
Sound shaping is further enhanced by a versatile multi-mode filter (Low-Pass, Band-Pass, High-Pass, Notch) controlled by ADSR envelopes for both amplitude and filter cutoff, while a dedicated reverse tape emulation section allows for synced audio playback in reverse with controls for speed, wear, and feedback.
Rewind includes a suite of five effects (Chorus, Rotary, Flanger, Delay, Reverb) whose order can be customized via a drag-and-drop panel, and a Master section provides final polishing with EQ, filters, Width, Mono, Compressor, Saturate, and Maximize for mix-ready output.
