Vista II – Small String Ensembles Lite is a standalone library featuring two distinct small tutti string ensembles, Ensemble A and Ensemble B, recorded together in a single room to capture a natural performance sound.
The library offers a variety of articulations, including unique performance-sourced short notes with sympathetic resonance, “normal” and whisper sustains with moderate vibrato, and looped marcatos, all edited from performances with extensive dynamic range.
These articulations were developed using new performance-sourced approaches, resulting in more spirited shorts with better between-pitch continuity and less pre-note ambience compared to standard sampling methods.
The intended use for this module is to provide a versatile small tutti string ensemble sound suitable for independent use, sketching, or doubling other sections within the Vista II ecosystem, offering a preview of the Vista II sound and its reverb response characteristics.
