Blip Box

Blip Box is a sixteen voice drum synthesizer that may look nice but can sound mean. Blip Box takes inspiration from a variety of synths, both analog and digital. We pulled together all the things we love about drum synthesis: complex frequency modulation, snappy envelopes, harsh effects; and put them together in a compact, touch-friendly package. The result is a truly unique digital sound engine that has taken on a life of its own.

Features include:

  • Focused, fun and characterful synth engine
  • Touch-first design, almost the entire screen is part of a control
  • Runs standalone or as AUv3 plugin
  • Universal purchase on Apple platforms: runs on iPhone, iPad, and Mac
  • Presets synced across your devices via iCloud
  • Hook up a MIDI controller to play with a keyboard (optional)
  • Pure synthesis engine, no samples
  • Complex digital oscillator with two-way frequency modulation
  • White noise source
  • Two snappy AD envelopes with variable shape
  • Unique mix control for pure oscillator sound or ring mod mayhem
  • “Choose-your-own-adventure” effect: analog (ish) wavefolder or digital degradation
  • State variable filter for tone shaping
  • Envelopes can be routed to modulate oscillator shape, pitch, or filter cutoff
  • Mix to filter cutoff modulation available for crispy filter FM
  • Velocity responsive, either in traditional level (gain) mode or rare brightness mode
  • Multi-out mode available when running in AUv3 mode
  • Master tune for keeping tonal drum sounds in tune with your song

Phase Monkey

Phase Monkey is a polyphonic synthesizer inspired by the classic phase distortion synthesizers of the mid-1980s. • Focused, fun, and characterful synth engine
  • Touch-first design, almost the entire screen is part of a control
  • Runs standalone or as AUv3 plug-in
  • Universal purchase on Apple platforms: runs on iPhone, iPad, and Mac

Fuzz Droid

Fuzz Droid is a distortion effect based on the CP3 modular mixer. Its sharp, asymmetric discontinuity makes for a unique & aggressive sound!

If you find the main circuit a little too rude, we also included a smoother curve from the same module.

Finally, we took the opportunity to add some digital extras: a custom smoothing function, adjustable bias, and flexible tone-shaping filters to fine tune your sound.

The result is the rudest effect we’ve created so far!

The details:

  • Two asymmetric distortion circuits from OG CP3 module
  • CP3+: A sharp discontinuity generates massive harmonics
  • CP3-: A smoother curve for a less aggressive sound
  • Digital extras Custom smoothing function for taming harsh artifacts
  • Bias control adjusts how you hit the asymmetries
  • Flexible high- and low-pass tone-shaping filters

Features include:

  • Two-week free trial included, one-time purchase for full unlock
  • AUv3 effect plug-in runs in a compatible DAW
  • Standalone links to user manual and video tutorials
  • Universal purchase on Apple platforms
  • User presets synced across your devices
  • Clickless global bypass
  • Internal undo/redo
  • A/B settings comparison
  • High quality mode enables oversampling (plus advanced anti-aliasing techniques)
  • Output trim with perceived loudness matching

Galaxy Brain

Galaxy Brain is a frequency shifter + delay combo ready to take any sound into outer space. With easy stereo controls, two modulation sources (LFO + sequence) & optional hardware clipping, things can go intergalactic very quickly!

In their frequency shifter Sketch Audio included the same range options as the original 1630 module, and each one has its own strengths. From thick chorusy effects, choppy AM sounds, to space-laser SFX, it’s all packed inside.

The delay module follows a straightforward digital approach but has a few nice extras thrown in: tone-shaping filters in the feedback loop, wet signal ducking, and easy stereo controls.

The details:

  • Frequency Shifter
    • Range settings from 5 Hz to 5 kHz (inspired by OG 1630 module)
    • Modulate shift amount with internal LFO and sequencer
    • Direction mixer allows tremolo & ring mod FX
