HoRNet Corrosion, a collaborative audio effect by The Buildzer and HoRNet Plugins, is designed to generate unique distorted and corroded sounds, adding grit and texture to audio tracks for musicians and sound designers.

The plugin fundamentally employs ring modulation, where a chosen source like white noise, sine, saw, or square waves modulates the input signal, creating intermodulation distortion and rich harmonic content for metallic textures.

A key distinguishing feature is its adjustable resonant filter applied to the modulation signal, allowing users to precisely tune the modulator and offering creative possibilities beyond typical static filters.

Corrosion also incorporates a “Track pitch” option that dynamically adjusts the modulator to follow the input sound’s fundamental frequency, ensuring harmonic resonance that evolves with the pitch.

Further enhancing its versatility, the plugin includes analog saturation to add warmth and punch, mimicking transistor distortion, and supports external audio inputs as modulator sources for complex sound design.

With an intuitive interface and features like input/output controls, bypass, and X/Y pad for filter manipulation, Corrosion provides a powerful yet user-friendly tool for subtle enhancements or extreme sonic transformations across various audio applications.

Corrosion is available to PC and Mac users (VST3, AU and AAX).
