Felt Instruments Brut is a unique saturation plugin that meticulously models a diverse collection of vintage studio and test equipment, renowned for their distinct distortion characteristics.
The plugin offers a wide sonic spectrum, ranging from subtle harmonic enhancement to extreme, uncontrolled saturation and feedback, allowing users to authentically replicate the sound of tubes and transformers pushed to their limits.
Inspired by devices like the Rohde & Schwarz UBM and RCA OP-6, Brut expands upon these concepts by incorporating gear from various eras and aesthetics, encouraging experimental sound design through features like bandpass filters and a feedback knob.
Brut provides an intuitive interface with controls for drive, model selection, tilt equalization (based on a Klangfilm RZ062b), and experimental filters modeled after the UBM and Polivoks, enabling users to easily shape their sound.
