crusher-X features a live, polyphonic, multichannel granular synthesis algorithm designed to create complex sounds, drones, and surround effects, building on its reputation as a granular effect standard since 1999.
Key features include Grain Controlled Oscillators (GCOs), Autotune and Pitch tracking, a 12-channel 3D panner, up to 199 individual grain streams, 3D grain visualization, extensive LFOs, and over 270 presets.
The latest release, crusher-X 12, enhances real-time granular synthesis with an interactive 3D environment that deepens the connection between grains, space, and motion for immersive sound design.
Unlike classic file-based granular synthesis, crusher-X employs a floating grain buffer allowing real-time input and output, with grains generated by multiple routed generators to various outputs or combined for mono/stereo.
