The Overloud EQ550 is a hyper-realistic emulation of a renowned American Proportional-Q equalizer, utilizing 4th generation DSP technology to go beyond the original hardware’s capabilities.
It features a unique Proportional-Q design where filter bandwidth narrows with increased gain, offering a smoother tone at low settings and a more aggressive character at higher gain levels, with the added flexibility of continuous frequency selection and an extra mid band.
This emulation precisely reproduces the original frequency response, even near the Nyquist frequency, without phase distortion or oversampling, while also offering modern features like a resizable interface, individual band cue, multilevel undo-redo, A/B comparison, and Scribble Strips for notes.
