ARMAGEDDON is a new professional sound effects library created for sound designers working with large-scale natural disasters and extreme environmental destruction. ARMAGEDDON is designed to deliver the scale, density, and impact required for modern film, television, trailer, and game productions where conventional effects libraries fall short.
ARMAGEDDON focuses on natural disasters at extreme scale, including earthquakes, violent storms, avalanches, collapsing terrain, and overwhelming environmental forces. While the collection also includes extra-large designed explosions, the conceptual centre of the library is environmental catastrophe and large-scale natural events.
The library has been developed as an uncompromising professional tool for sound designers who need sounds that feel physically large, mix-ready, and capable of carrying weight in dense, high intensity sessions.
ARMAGEDDON follows BOOM Library’s established approach to sound design: realism where reality provides useful reference, and deliberately exaggerated design where real-world recording is either impossible or insufficient for modern production needs. Many of the scenarios represented cannot be captured directly. As a result, techniques such as controlled distortion, heavy compression, and dense layering are used intentionally to achieve convincing scale and energy.
Rather than relying on isolated one-shot effects, ARMAGEDDON concentrates on event-based destruction that unfolds across time and perspective. The library supports both distant, landscape-level devastation and closer, more detailed layers, allowing sound designers to construct sequences that feel coherent, flexible, and production ready.
Development included extensive research into large-scale disaster behaviour and visual timing. Designed sounds were tested against picture to ensure they translate convincingly in cinematic and interactive contexts, whether used as wide establishing elements or close detail components.
ARMAGEDDON is aimed at professional sound designers working in feature film and high end television, game audio teams building destruction-heavy or cinematic worlds, and trailer and promotional specialists who require extreme sonic impact and density.
